One of the often overlooked elements in advancing automation is selecting what resources are safe to use next. When teams rely on manual designation of resources they can end up with subnet overlaps, unavailable ASN choices, or even unroutable IP addresses. This is where resource management in Infrahub can help teams intelligently, and automatically, assign the next valid resource.
Infrahub gives the ability to intelligently assign:
- IP addresses: Individual IP addresses which need to be assigned to interfaces or routing processes.
- IP prefixes: Multiple subnets that adhere to higher level supernet routing design.
- Number groups: Ranges of VLANs, ASNs, routing processes and more can be safely set in advance for easier consumption.
You can read more about Infrahub’s resource management system, and how it can help teams more effectively deliver IPAM services in our official documentation. Meanwhile, check out this short video where we give a brief walk-through of the IPAM feature.
